Indeed very natural looking, Andre! Crispy clear on the main subject, rich colors, and still not that flashy look that doesn't correspond at all to the special atmosphere.

I really have to wonder why this kind of look gets more and more underestimated. It is much more "silent" this way instead of going Disney, and that I always thought is the main difference between nature and "plastic legoland".

Thanks a lot for the link!

Hi Nick,
Here is one that I did a couple of years ago that has similar lighting conditions. Maybe a bit darker, but similar. A great kind of light for this kind of image. Not too flashy. Very natural looking.

Thank you very very much for the nice and detailed comment again, Andre!

I am especially glad because you noticed that I really tried to make it to a series with a consistent look and feel, which has not been mentioned as explicitly until now. That softness that you refer to was also my own ambition while taking these images. The bright light might make everything quite... "happy" but the atmosphere of that rather dimmed or even "wet" light is to me still much much better.

Best wishes,

Nick

I think this one might be my favourite of the series Nick.
I like the way the Buttercups are all reaching out to the top right of the frame. I think you did a good job of making this series consistant in colour and mood. They all have that "rainy summer day" look to them. I prefer the light on that kind of day for these kind of shots. The moisture works well with the low light conditions, creating a kind of softness in the image that just isn't there on a bright sunny day.

Wonderful shot Nick. A beautiful display of colors and lines. One to soothe :). Love this one. No suggestion a straight 7.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment again, Dave!

Nice to hear about the diagonal composition again., since Gustavo has mentioned that too. So it seems that sometimes a diagonal composition can have advantages in nature.

But it was also good luck again, since the background was the slope of the mountain, and so it just had to turn diagonal.

Cheers,

Nick
