About After a recent UF critique discussion involving these majestic beasts, (icons of America) I was motivated to include this shot from 9/06. This old man was roaming alone, having been on the losing end of an alpha bull butt thrashin'. Relegated to the ranks of an "also-ran" and banished by the herd, it's doubtful that he survived the brutal '06 Yellowstone winter. Image taken in mid-morning natural light under mostly overcast skies

What a grand buffalo, Newfman. I love when such animals run free although there always will be downsides to it, but mankind must also leave room for the large wild animals, or else there is no point in keeping them and breeding on them in zoos.
In Greenland I´ve seen several muskoxen that remind me a bit of buffaloes except these ones are excellent climbers and have a long heavy coat for the winters in the arctic.
I love large animals:-)
Take care, Newfman J
