Thanks a lot for the nice and detailed comment, Sylvia. Exactly this distance and space in the depth together with sharpness of the patterns that generate leading lines is the quintessence and the special, empoty charm of the wide angle photo.
I was not really aware of the "skywards tendency" here until you said about that, but now I do realize it. Indeed it's not the direction to the depth but rather to the far-upwards that makes it.

Hi Nick, I like your use of perspective on this photo, you not only have it going away but also upwards. The road with its lines and arrows point the eye off into the distance, the diminishing size of the trees give depth and distance to the photo. The trees with their branches reaching skywards and the skyscrapers windows which also create lines lead the eye upwards to the blue sky giving the whole photo visual interest. Sylvia
