Thank You Dave. You are right. The real moon is behind clouds in bright area. Just experiment.

Wonderful shot but that moon does look a bit odd.

Well, I like the shot too, although it is unquestionably a composite of two images, a wide angle and a telephoto shot. The moon is too large for a wide angle shot like this, and it looks fake. It is also inverted and reversed for a northern latitude view, and the apparent position of the sun would not produce the phase of the moon shown -- It should be a narrow crescent. Finally, at f8 for this kind of good exposure of the moon, the shutter speed would be about 1/400 sec, not 15 sec. At 15 sec all you would see is a burned out white mark, regardless of the ISO setting.
All that said, your creation is eye catching and attractive, with a good composition. Just not real.

A very nice photo, pleasent light and composition, but I'm just not sure about the moon there, it looks superimposed and too artificial with the light coming from the clouds. Still a very, very good shot!
All the best for 2007,
Rod
