You are most welcome, Marks.
And I do wish you the best. It is a great challenge shooting theatre... but isn't it fun??? :) I do hope you have the opportunity again! I have also found that if the theatre company is willing, you can get some fantastic images at dress rehearsals where you are not "confined" and can move about freely without interferring with a full house audience! Alternatively, if you can watch the show on more thgan one night/day, the first time perhaps capturing a few images to get an idea of lighting, shutter speeds required etc for different scenes... you will know the play well enough to go and really do a top shoot the following night/day.
All the very best to you, and happy shooting! Aniko :)

Shooting theatre can be a bit tricky to be sure. I never use flash and yes, I hand hold. Often it is impossible to make people in the background "disappear" , as you are after a certain expression on your main character's faces and have little time to catch them. If the main character/s are pretty much at the same level as one another, I use a very shallow depth of field to blur any unwanted background distractions out, giving the illusion of partial "disappearance' anyway... Also, depending on where you are seated, you might have little option as to how to compose your image. I think you have done really well with this and the tones are great!
Warm Wishes, Aniko :)

Luis, Thanks again Luis. The permission thing was the fact it was a stage production of a british sitcom, of which i had to get permission to take photographs of. Enjoyable show to watch, and great people to work with. Without the friendless of the stage performers, i dont think they would have come out as well. Enjoy your work, so different and captivating. Regards Mark

Hi there.
You caught a very nice shot of the actors in front, excellent expressions on both of them. However, the placement is awkward - if there was a moment when the two in the back had moved or prior to the two in the back sitting down, it would be even better. There's just not quite enough depth between the man and the lady sitting behind him and she looks like she is growing out of his ear. If only the stage lights cast a little bit more of a shadow to separate them!
I do really like the decision to shoot this in sepia... it suits the slightly older look of the costumes.
