Excellent. +7
How do you get this perfect silhouette of the birds in a white background?. Feathers and hair are specially difficult to cut in PS.
Congrats for the "Editors Choice" in the other Marvelous photo.
Best to you
Bernar

WOW!! Now this is the "Darlene Boucher" imagery we all like to see. Spectacular shot! Well isolated subject and great sharpness in all the critical features. The blurring of the wings simply adds power to the image. Congratulations on this wonderful image! Very well done!

Cheers,
-Mike.

Very striking! Love the blur on the wing tips to help give sense of motion. You must be really pleased at this photo, Darlene! I'm sure it's not easy to catch.

I'm sure it will be easy to "PS" them out of the shot. Is it easy to clean the sensor, Darlene? Do you change lenses often? Just curious as I'm looking to get a camera (still) and dust is always on my mind...

Darlene Boucher   {K:15739} 2/19/2006
Yep, they're dust spots on the sensor, I missed those! I usually check for these and usually have a few but I guess I was tired and missed it! Thanks for pointing them out Kes, I really should be more careful and look for them or..........clean my sensor more often!! Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you liked it! Take care my friend! Beautifully isolated and such a wonderful angle! He looks very stark--all wings and legs. How DO you follow with this giant lens? I am amazed . . .

Regards,

Wow, what a fantastic capture, Darlene. That eye really jumps out at you.

There are a couple of spots in the background (top right above the (our) right wing). Are these from dust on your lens or inside on the sensor or something else?

Hi Darlene,
Great shot of this Osprey! We love watching these at our cottage. Our cottage dock looks out over a deep part of the river. But, about 200 yards out we have beautiful view of a large shallow bay. That bay is a favourite hunting ground for Ospreys. They often do a loop of the bay and if they see something they come crashing down on it. They are spectacular when diving feet first and wings back into the water. I have seen these guys come out of the water with a two foot northern pike in their talons!
Another great entertainment is when there is a competition for some food between an Osprey and a seagull! The seagull always looses. Surprise, surprise!
