This is a fantastic image, Rob Love it. Gorgeous colours and beautiful diagonal composition. I agree with Jim about the level adjustment. The bottom looks much better when given more contrast. As for the frame, I usually adopt the same rule as you or I don't make any frame at all, unless for my abstract, for which I like a drop shadow frame. So, I think that in this image of your the frame colours is a pretty good choice. Superb work! Regards

To Jim, Thank you for your kind words and effort!
The picture was originally made to be printed on paper with some kind of rough or structured surface.. I found that that worked best if the contrast wasn't too high and the colors a bit soft and not too dark. The main problem was trying not to kill the very subtle yellows at the top of the cornstalks...they had to 'shine'as much as possible..Would the picture be printed on any kind of normal photopaper you would of course be perfectly right in the corrections you made..as to the framing.. I tried black and other obvious colors but it didn't work out very well...mostly I stick to a simple rule, being: if the frame is not black or white, I choose a color that exists in the photo but it must be a color that is only seen in one place in the photo or in some details.. In this case I choose one of the many colors that are in the sky..so that is why you see that in the upper right corner, the frame and sky blend together. As another example see my pictureaughter of a knight. Greetings Rob

Great shot! I really like the composition and lighting. The silhouette is extremely effective. One thing that is lacking though is the amount of contrast and level adjustments. Having a darker silhouette would work much better. See the attached. I hope this is in line with what you were after. As for the framing I think you'd be better off with out using a color that so closely matches the sky color.
