When I was a child, my family had a cottage in Muskoka where we spent every Thanksgiving Weekend. The view from the kitchen window looked out onto on one of the Haliburton Hills, and this window was above the kitchen sink. When doing the dishes, I would occasionally look up and out the window.
While the effect of the total view of the colour panorama on the hill was wonderful, the effect of viewing the red trees was like a lightning bolt striking into my soul which I have never forgotten even to this day – an effect that was quite literally stunning. For Kamran, the colours of this view must strike into his soul = the equivalent to my experience doing dishes many years ago.
