Colin, he definitely has beautiful colors, it's just hard to get him to look good on film with them. However, I will admit this is one of his better color photos. Usually he ends up goofy looking and not quite right like you can see in the one I'm attaching.
Jocelyne, I don't think it's your monitor, or else it's both of our monitors. He is a little too bright in the chest, but that comes from the bright light from window that was only 5 inches away. Any ideas on how to prevent overexposure in one area while preventing underexposure in another when a bright light source is that close?
What a beautiful cockatiel! The lighting is just a little too bright on its chest (unless it's just my monitor), but otherwise you've captured a cute moment with great natural colors. The composition is good, and the "why are you waking me up?" expression on the bird's face is great. Thanks for sharing! )
Now that's great, nice contrast with the background, no distractions there,, perfect focus, just look at the detail in the fine edge feathers,, love the colours,,, and the "pose",, is he turning into a celebrity?.. lol (I really didn't like the B&W, this is wonderful, maybe because you see him every day you take for granted the his wonderful colours)
