About These Schooling hammerheads are almost always found at the two most northern islands of the galapagos Islands. This photo is scanned from the slide, on my cheap scanner, and I am afraid I have lost a lot of detail.

I agree with Mellisa > "Get a better scanner so I can see this beauty in all its glory Jim!! Fantastic. Wish I were there."
I'm also a scuba diver and I also like to travel, but not that much ($$$...)Galapagos !!!

Jim, as you rightly said the scan is a big problem here, but we can live with that. I have a couple of comments about the composition which might make a difference though.

Firstly the frame, I'm sorry but it makes the shot almost look like an aquarium, a simple black or dark blue would possibly give a better result.

Secondly, the rocks at the bottom left really don't add anything to the photo, and could possibly be cropped or cloned out.

I do like the way the small fish in the foreground are darker with the sharks off in the distance, thats very effective.

Regards

Keith

Not many photos in the water... so nice and original! The lighting is always not the best in water and we must critique it not as a photo in the clarity of the blue sky and the strong sunlight. A very good work Jim.

No kidding? Don't mean to ask what could be a ridiculously inane question, but if you use PS, have you tried de-interlacing the capture? I still use analog, so my captures are crap. I don't know if digital video is better (I am assuming it is!) And I'm assuming you use DV, because I'm still living under a rock when it comes to all technology except still photo.

Thanks Melissa, It is a fantastic dive area, plus wonderful land tours. The problem for me is that 90% of my picture taking was on video, and the captured images are much to poor to upload.
