James, I'm getting bored of your usually standard perfect exposure great DOF shots. Can you do something say.. a little more.. not so perfect ? :-)
I do have one thing constructive; I know that Joshua Tree is very "busy" but perhaps less DOF on something like this and maintain the tree as the subject ? Just a thought.
Cheers, Dave

Nice job James, did you use a red filter on that or is that a photoshop touch up with the black sky?

Wow James! This is a lovely image. And this is coming from a guy who doesn't normally find B&W my cup of tea.
Great job.

James, this is my favoite in your portfolio so far. Well executed. Could you offer a little more information, was this shot on IR film? I would expect the sky to be a little darker if it was. What color filter did you use, or was the effect accomplished in PS? Thanks for sharing!

Hey, James. I'm not used to seeing color in your pics, is this a new trend? Both feel warm, maybe a little lonely. Cloud lines guide the viewer's eye back to your subject, a nice effect.

I thought you were just about B&W and then you hit me with this.
When I do get to San Diego/San Fran, remind me to beat you soundly about the noggin for being such a good photographer! :-)
Cheers on an excellent and moving photo. Dave

Wow! Great perspective! Very well done. I think I have to start using my 4X5. Standing on my head in order to see the reversed image properly is a little discouraging and hard to do, but I'll have to give it a shot )))))))))))))

Beautiful scene, Ansel Adams' style huh? ...You've captured the reflection on the water very well... why the IR film/effect wasn't mentioned on the technical data?

Lots of motion, a really dynamic image. I don't understand why this one shows more motion than the typical, long exposure waterfall shot, but it sure does. That streaking of white through the slower water is cool.

Excellent contrast, I like the highlighting. This could use some cleaning up of the edges, and there seems to be dust on the slide, which could be easily deleted.

James, I have to agree with Alisa here, try a small black frame and see if you don't think it adds to your excellent work instead of distracting from it. Yeah man, this perfection thing is getting pretty old! Hey, but keep it up! We love it.

I disagree with David, Shecky, et al. I like the crop. Course, as a newspaper journalist, I'm always cropping off parts of people's heads to "tighten up" the photo. Looks like the crop is "just right"... don't think you need the VERY outer edges of it to portray the focus of the shot.
Another good ones, James. I hate you, too. LOL smirk
