These are adorable. Loved seeing them in real life when I gave scuba diving a go - but our images form the cheap disposable underwater camera didn't turn out even remotely worthwhile...
Congrats on a great shot, Kasia

Very nice shot, I appreciate the great job you have done with focus, lighting and composition. Did you get to dive the Coolege while in vanuatu? If so, I hope you got some good shots of "The Lady". regards.

Another winner! Great composition, and lighting is superb. You captured the anemonefish without blowing out the highlights or the anemone.
Very inspiring!

Great pictures Des, I will show may wife she will love them. I had not seen clown fish do that and recall her telling me they tend to not to, but that maybe in a tank as small as her's. Thanks for the comments.

Nice shot, good focus and DOF. I agree the the larger Clown always stays to the front and this is not at all unusual behavior. By the way, the largest of the clowns is probably the super female, as the males do tend to burrow deeper into their host anemone. What housing do you use?

Hi Dennis
I can assure you that this is a real image - I have the original slide to prove it.
It wasn't taken in an aquarium, but was most certainly taken in the open ocean.
In my time, I've seen a lot of clown fish in their natural environment, and can assure you that they do behave this way - wrapped in their anemone, with the larger ones in the front, as a rule.
They can also be quite aggressive, and I have had these little 5cm long creatures (2") try to bite my gloved fingers.
Hope this puts your mind at ease - as a rule I will always "declare" any manipulations made in photo shop. The only corrections I would do without declaring would be to correct colour and sharpness, and crop.

Des is this a real picture or a ps cut paste? Clowns do not tend to act this way in groups and the front clown's tail seems to have a light glow. If it is ps thats cool. My wife has a coral salt aquarium.
