Very nice. I like the color and the slight blur, the border is simple yet compliments the image well.

Hi Sarah, thanks for your comment. The image was shot in natural light and I did desaturate in Photoshop.

The light was provided by one large softbox.
Expression was exactly what I was trying to capture. I do have some of her smiling

Gary, I rated this at a 9. It is one of those images that when the thumbnail came up my reaction was "I want to be there" Good work.

Verna, Thanks for the comment. We hope to breed her in another year, she just turned one. It's funny that so many people who meet her say that they would like to have one of her pups. She's a good one.

Thank you all for the kind remarks.

Verna B. good to see you over here!

Andrew, I went back and checked my image data and I goofed! This image was shot with the 85mm f1.8 Nikkor lens.

At that time I was using the 28-105 a lot and I just assumed....

Great image. I'm a sucker for kid shots. Wonder how it would look if you cropped some of that space from the bottom?

Hi Sarah, I just spent some time looking at your images and I think you have a great eye. You are fortunate to have a beautiful model in Jenny. You explained how you used your on camera flash for this particular image. I was wondering if you use any off camera flash or if you have a speedlight that will allow you to bounce the light? I would also like to know if you scan your prints or if you scan the negatives. I've been shooting digital for the past two years and am now considering going back to film for some of my children images.

Hi Ed. I don't remember! I usually don't bounce off a card, but I will bounce off a ceiling or wall.
