Hi Marcus,

This is an amazing shot. You have frozen the action as usual, but what makes it extra special, for me at least, is the presence of the water so close by, as a frame of reference. Because it's so well frozen, without panning blur, he seems to simply be suspended in mid-air, defying the laws of gravity. To me, that makes is extra interesting.

I would love to see you submit a caption to my "caption competition" (www.usefilm.com/image/860789.html)

Another OMG! Outstanding capture, perfect in every way: focus, dof, colors, composition, with his wings unfolded down as if he wants to walk on water, and his flying low to take advantage of 'ground effect.' Very appropriate and oof background ... masterful Mr Armani ... I salute your expertise, what a superb eye you have ... Gab

PS this is the third image I've looked at today; I could not stop admiring each and every one ... You're so talented

You sure are a sceptic LOL, The app was actually 6.0 or 7.1 one of the ones that is not listed on the pull down menu after you post between 5.6 and 8.0, but on a sunny day I can get 2000 easy at 6.0 and somtimes 7.1.....

Absolutely stunning, Marcus. I think you must have the least light-hungry 20D of the batch. 1/2000, F8 @ ISO 200 with a dark background? I would be lucky to get 1/400 under these conditions & settings. How do you do it?!
Cheers, Steve.

If I can say something your captures of high interest, they are really a good lesson for all to learn how to catch a flying subject with great sharp details, congrats for such specialty shots. Saeed

Hi Marcus, I guess I overlooked the fact that you are shooting sea birds. So waves definitely present a problem from a kayak.

I was going to ask if you used a kayak again for this one Marcus. And the answer is in the "about". I suppose it takes a lot of patience to go where the birds are and then gain a little of their confidence, so that you become part of the scenery. Even with nice telephotos, the closer the better.
Another great wildlife shot!
Andre
