mmm, Not only the two different colored shoes she is wearing is the strange thing
there is much, her pose like she is at the final move to kill, but it is the beginning of the game.
also she is holding one of the enemies white pieces! maybe the game didn't started yet, and she is setting up the pieces for the play.
Also their serious look, like they are callenging for death, even adult people wouldn't have this serious attidute while they are playing chess !
also the scale of the children when compared to their chairs
last but not least, the background lights give the feeling of a dynamic move, while everything else stand still, well done it is a perfect shot for a decisive moment

Wonderful capture! My niece and I often play checkers at the local Starbucks and many times I think to myself, "This would make a great picture." I should take along my tripod and remote and get a few shots of us. Thanks for the inspiration!

I will need to borrow that level... I looked at a photo I have framed on my fireplace (the dreamy one with my son flying a kite) and guess what?! Yep, that darn horizon line is off and I mean really off. Ack!!!

I love the shoes - spotted it right off. The look of 2 kids acting so adult-like is adorable. I wish the metal siding wasn't there, but we have to take what we get in candid's huh? Great shot all the same Antonia. Are you sure that horizon isn't off? Hee Hee...

cute! I really like the short verticals near the top of the page. it really exaggerates how small the children are on the tall chairs.
