So the Digilux actually has some response left in the infra-red region? That's surprising... I thought that most digital IR pictures were simply faked digitally to look "something like." This one is a fascinating image! The panorama crop suits the subject well, but I agree with those who felt the contrast could well have been higher.

10 second exposure? Wow! Rock steady tripod with no wind eh? I have to agree with don?s post, maybe it?s just my screen or maybe it?s just because I?m a huge fan of hard contrast, but I?d bump it up a few notches. As far as the composure, well, infared suits a place called Death Valley, you got some nice foliage and shadows in there. The crop works well for the subject.

You may be right Don. The originals are woefully low in contrast so its largely a case of "tweak to taste" Your adjustment may be better, I'll sleep on it. Thanks for the thought. - John

A beautiful area John, a lovely scene with great light. I do feel that it is a little flat. I have added about 29 contrast. See what you think. I always have to add a lot of contrast to my IR pictures. Don.
