hi lori,
the lighting situation seemed to be very special. like the outcome even if the reflections on the water are burned out ;-)
lovely tones and overall composing. the tree and the framing add to the scene. nice work.
best wishes,
thilo

Well it's a tricky shoot, but it comes out beautiful. The landscape's detail is quite sharp, and so is the tree's, albeit of the 'grand reflection' in the water. Very nice shoot my dear friend....

I always said that the frame should compliment the work not taking part of the work away, and this one of great balance, it did take some hard sun shine reflection, results in pleasing scene. Saeed

Dear Lori, Nice work (can never go wrong with a torrey) It's kind of a solitary shot - since I feel that way a lot I can relate. Very nice compo. I see you've been out and about a lot lately so maybe you didn't hear the news. The elections went very smooth, without a hitch. How could I ever have doubted our great leader - shame on me. All the best, Mark

Compositionwise very well done, Lori and the reflection of the sun on the ocean in this picture has actually something very attractive and atmospheric. The pale colours in the shady foreground give the scene something eerie. So everything together has quite a definite character of its own. Best regards Jorg Ps in my California time my wife and me loved to be in Torrey Pines. We even thought of retiring at the "Californian Riviera"

And your exposure limitations left you with a mystic-like photo. I can't help thinking that this just wouldn't have the appeal with a beautiful blue sky and lush green landscape.
I like this!
Best, Dave

You did well here Lori, considering everything. Wonderful composition with the tree to the left, and the centre of the water highlighted by the bright light of the sun. Very beautiful. Linn
