I'd already left NZ by then and was living in the UK so I don't know why either. Its lovely to see photos of NZ being posted. I do miss it sometimes and occassionaly think about coming back to live. I usually come back about once a year or two to see family (and get an accent top up!). Thanks for posting your work and replying! Alastair

This one was taken from Micky Savage memorial in about 1992, though I dont remember the reason for the fly past I do recall it was nearly dark at the time.

Nice shot John. The P51 is one of my favourite aircraft of all time (along with the P38, F4U and Mosquito). Only criticism is that is a shame the wingtip is cropped out of the image. Where in Auckland was that taken? I used to live on the North Shore and had friends at Herald Island so spent a lot of time near Whenuapai... Thanks for sharing
