This is the most facinating and suggestive image I have seen on Usefilm, or perhaps anywhere else. Technically remarkable, but that is beside the point. The storytelling is a true achievement for any photographer. Bravo!!!

For me this is a great and very impressing image as well. The seriousness and heaviness of the young womans thoughts seem to break that bench. This is strongly emphasized by the dark space at the upper left. Additionally the darkness does not only focuse our view, it strengthens the concentration, narrowness and/or constriction she feels. Look at the way she sits, surrounded by a brick wall. The cat is a symbol for loneliness and death on the one hand, but it stands for independence, strength and freedom as well. The cat turns away from the darkness to the left: So, does that young woman feel like being the cat, or does she envy the cat- Does she feel like a mouse in trap? Is this a homage to F. Kafka ? The trash around is not necessary for me. What I would like to know: Was it a snap-shot or did you bring the cat with you.
Thank you for this picture-Thomas

What fluent visual language! The ruined bench, the remnants of a drinking party, the vulnerable young woman perched carefully as if to protect herself from her environment, looking at the cat rummaging around in the garbage for a bite to eat. It looks like she would join the cat if she could just find the courage. I find this a very sad photograph, a very eloquent photograph, don't change a thing. It's original: the best thing posted on usefilm in a long time. Rgds, Svend

well done; like the expression of this shot and the story I can find here; b&w works here perfectly; there is only one thing I would change in this perfect composition - I would crop the left side of the picture to avoid this darkest part (shadow) - IMHO it distract the view too strong and does not fit the whole picture; anyway; really good shot regards Lukasz

This picture to me, gives off a feeling of despair and lonliness, with the hunched body of your subject, the trash around her and the cat hunting for a bite to eat. Well done with the stark lighting and composition. Alison

Very "talkative" image. It concentrates so many things in it. You can feel how this girl is concentrated on some thoughts, and sort of finds refuge in watching the cat. One thing that I find a little bit destructive is the gradual dark area at the left. Is it caused by something closing part of the lens? I would recommend to either crop it off, or try to control in PhotoShop.
Best regards - Armen
