I calibrated on each of my lenses when I got the camera, and for the first few rolls of film, I calibrated before I took some shots. After a few rolls of film, I only calibrated if the camera had problems with focusing. I now find that the eye control works all the time. I think the thing to remember is that you can never calibrate too much. Just remember to calibrate in dim light as well as out in the open, and in sun and shade. I think I read somewhere that the more you use the eye control feature, the better it gets, ie. the camera gets used to your particular eye (don't quote me on this though - I may have got that wrong.)
Serdar, I find with my elan 7e, that I have had to calibrate the eye control several times, but now it works 99% of the time just fine. I think also, the more you use it the better it gets. About the picture, I think I would prefer the person to be a little more to the left, just so there was a bit of a gap between his black top, and the edge of the picture. Good DOF though.
