George, I think my friend was just young and misguided at the time. How shall We say, Ignorant of the Nature of the Beast. She is much wiser now;)
As far as Stupid people in general My theory is that the exponetial increase in really stupid people can be traced back to the introduction of soft toys for children (ie:Nerf toys) and the banning and redesign of more life lesson inducing sharp edged toys such as Lawn Darts and big heavy metal Tonka(TM) trucks. Call it "Nature's way of weeding out the Stupid - The Toy Theory." If you used these toys improperly you could get injured, sometimes fatally yes, but most of the time the child would only end up with a bump on the noggin or a lawn dart thru the foot. Thereby learning a valuable life lesson, or removing one too dumb to live. RD

This is a very interesting and well done image. It has made me think long and hard about a few things in life. Amoung these thoughts, I will share this one with you:
In a way I agree with Robin; this is not a recommended activity. However, if you think about it, if more stupid people would be so kind as stick their body appendages into a lion's mouth, then we would know by looking at all the one-handed/one-armed/one-legged people who might really be stupid. Then we could stand clear of them and be a little safer (and saner) in our own lives.
Thanks for making it possible for me to get my thinker working.

Wish I got to hug him too but we weren't allowed to do that! They think you are playing if you do that and decide to tackle you! Florida Panthers do not make good pets (but they sure are cute!)

Robin, My friend was friends of the owner of this wildlife sanctuary and he allowed us to pet certain animals which were extremely tame and not the ones which were not. We only were allowed to do so because we were friends, the general public does not get to. :-)

Nice but not very wise. I encourage people not to stick there hands into cages with big cats no matter how tame they may seem. It is still an animal with wild animal instincts. You never know how it will react to someone unfamiliar to them. A close friend of mine almost lost her arm to a tiger cub that her sister was raising. My friend had bottle fed this cat many times before this. She was petting and playing with the cub and the cub playfully, as many times before, took her wrist in its mouth. This time however it bit down a little harder than normal and its canine made a doughnut out of one of the small bones in her wrist. As soon as it tasted blood it was like a switch had been flipped on and it began to try to drag My friend into the cage. After many surgeries and large antibiotic treatments due to infections in the bone She lost 2 of the small bones in her wrist. Be Careful.
