Ursula,
I've looked at your portfolio and love all your shots. I'm not sure which one I like best but I'm a big fan of portrait type shots and definetly like this one.
Anyway, I think you do a great job with your photography. I like the double catch lights in this shot.

Thank you, Eric, I appreciate the time you took to enter your suggestions. I will try some of that - this is just a snapshot! The OOF eyes bothered me also, and you're right about the lighting, but I do like the light background. Oh well.

Lovely photo of a beautiful child! Good work! A few nitpicks: I would
improve it with a dark background. It will bring out the cute face
some more. I will move the flash to the side. The front flash creates a flat facial image and emphasize the cheek bones. I will use
a reflector opposite to the flash. I will use a portrait lens
85 or 105 mm and focus on the pretty eyes or nose! The eyes are slightly out of focus. I like the eyes and eyelashes to stand out.
