Just wanted to thank you for answering my question! I appreciate you letting me in on your settings. I will give your suggestions a try (when the clouds go away) and let you know if the same approach works for me! Is your Hoya an IR72? I also put my camera in black and white mode before I took shot with the IR filter... hmmm... either way, the darkness of the filter confused my camera's autofocus. The focal length was quite short, so maybe putting it in landscape will do the trick!! Thanks for helping out a fellow canuck!!

Nice job! I've been playing around with a Hoya IR filter with my Sony digicam but haven't had much luck with clarity. You obviously are not having the same problem! Did you use any special aperature or shutter speed settings?
