About "mamuthone---> the dressing"

develop rodinal 9min
fixed with agefix
printed on a ilford rc perle paper with a 3-1/2 grade filter
masked during print on the dark areas of the dresses and the face of the young man.

Scaned from a 18x24cm print

I.M.H.O. the printed version is better than the previous version scanned from negative, the quality is obviusly better on paper than on monitor so... sorry for the quality :)

your opinion are really welcome.

Complimenti!

Ciao

To Hugo:
the face and the dress was masked during printing, for me not easy at all but very fun to do.
Maybe i could mask more in another print, for the details in the dark area in the print are visible but on the monitor no :(.
Thanx.
E.
Now i upgrade the about.

Ora provvedo ad inserirlo nell'about.

Hi Efisio, compared to the previous one, this is definitely an improvement again, yet I don't think youre quite there yet...

I figure the softness of the image is because of the digitalisation during scanning, so I won't comment on that. Impossible to tell..:)

I do believe the details in the black parts are a bit weak; need to mask it a bit more, or reduce the time exposure time a notch, although looking at the white parts, that solution isn't very flexible, and won't give you much room to play with.

Definitely not an easy photo to print well, considering the hand and it's motion blur. The head of the guy standing and watching the hand is easier to fix, or so it seems.

I've been thinking of what other things you could possibly do to revive this photo, but I'm at a loss, the filter used seems fine, the contrast in the mid range (details on top of his head, the various lighter parts and such) is excellent. I believe masking the black areas during the last 1/3 of the exposure time could work, but that's something I wouldn't attempt to begin with, as it's way over my head and experience.

Cheers,

Hugo
