I just read up all I could about the location and got me some guidebooks. Driving over is a pain, the best spots are more central in the park...
Consider Signal Mountain Lodge. Not the best accommodation in the park (though good, and reasonably priced) but very well located and rustique (with log cabins for sleeping quarters). Their restaurant serves some excellent local food with a stunning sunset view over Jackson Lake and the Teton range.

Thanks Jeroen, I have a location of Snake River Lodge, what I'm looking for is a naturalist/photographer to act as a guide for the day. Anyone you've had experience with around there?

no, was there for 3 days (plus one day in Jackson Hole and 3 days in Yellowstone) and didn't use a guide.
The ranger stations will each day publish lists of where specific animals have been spotted recently. That's a good starter.
The park website also has some information: http://www.nps.gov/grte/ and the park newspaper has seasonal information (when published, they're currently offline).

hi John, you may want to consider a LightChase PHotograhy tour. Mark Rasmussen is the instructor. I've been on 4 of his tours and they are great fun and affordable. My photography has improved tenfold since I met Mark. Check out his website- http://www.geocities.com/lightchasephotography/WelcomePage.html the tours are very affordable and he has one going to yellowstone and tetons. Tell him I sent you if you email him.
cheers, nicole

Jerod,
My wife and I went to Jackson hole in '06 for our honeymoon and we would recommend Upstream Anglers and Wildlfe Adventures (Greg Falk). He was so helpful and knowledgeable that we booked a second outing after experiencing the first. It was a private tour (just she and I) and we toured Yellowstone and the Grand Teton NP. Can't say enough about this wonderful experience!!!!

Danny, I doubt that 2 years+ later he's still looking for tour guides. He's either back from the trip by now, cancelled it, or got lost and eaten by a feral badger
But yes, Yellowstone and GP are magnificent. Rarely a week goes by that I don't wish I were back there, something that will sadly not happen for years to come given the cost of such a trip.

Feral badgers? Actually we did spot one in Teton, and as an update (thank you all for your suggestions!) I met up with a local photographer/guide that does Teton, Yellowstone and surrounds named Jim Laybourn (Wyoming Photo Experience). Outstanding photo safaris, a great time. Highly recommended! Best regards, -john
