Re "400@F4"-- just a mental lapse. I actually used the Zuiko 50-200 (100-400mm, 35mm equivalent). Thanks for catching it. I could not have taken this photo (and the other too) w/o a 400mm equivalent lens. Cheers. Craig

Hi Chris, i like your "depth of field" here, and it is consistent with your great "technique". But i think Mrs S. will agree with me that she is a little "overexposed" and that the image "polarizers" a lot. Maybe you should have "filtered" her out or next time just ask her if she wants to go "photoshopping" ;-)
So that was enough "puns" for one comment :)

Perhaps I better set this image in context!!
First of all, (as some of you have picked up), this is my feeble attempt at a joke!! Or a 'play on words' to be exact!
'Depth of field', (or d.o.f. to many UFers), is a term we're hopefully all familiar ~ at least, the English speakers amongst us. (Sincere apologies to all non-English speakers who may neither understand the phrase or our typically English, punny sense of humour!!!)
The 'play on words' is down to the fact that, (with a little PS trickery), I've transported Carole and the river level gauge from Exmoor to a field near my home, in an attempt to give the impression that she's measuring the 'depth of the field'! Geddit?!
Yes, you may groan ~ truly, madly, deeply!!
Of course, the image loses most of it power and appeal if your limited knowledge of English hasnt allowed you to grasp the pun. (In which case, you probably won't understand a word of this explanation either!!)
So I'll quit now, before I dig too deep a hole!!
But just watch out for the next 'photographic term' 'play on words'. It's now 10.20p.m. here in the U.K. and I've got another 50 minutes to wait before I can load it up?
You have been warned!!

Chris, this is great - your sense of humour is zanier than I first thought. I like that ;-)
I do hope Carole forgives you because Usefilm will be totally lost without your valuable uploads (and I mean that most sincerely !).
However, looking at the photo and Carole being nearly 6feet tall you had better be on your best behaviour and look after that lovely lady ;-)

Why should anyone want to put a depth gauge on the top of a hill. And any way it's not vertical.
Seriously though Chris. It's a wonderfully sharp picture and a terrific portrait. But why isn't the subject sporting a camera?
