Interesting proposal! But... photos require cameras, and cameras *are* already the products of politics - economy politics, company and production politics. ;-)
Mine would rather be, to think more when doing something - be it photos, politics, anything.

It surely has that component you referred to, Gosia, but unfortunately it is also a product of politics. Whatever the "others" are, they are no good, you understand? ;-) Add the certain kind of "comfort" which is responsible for a too quick belief of what the politicians say and what the TV-news propagate, and here you are the salad. Who sits and studies anymore?
The internet made things worse. From about 1000000 pages with "info" about some subject, only one or two are made after rigorous research and studying. When 99% of the users rely on information taken from wikipedia, what else could one expect? ;-)

Hello, Nick!
When I was a little girl I was traveling across Poland and Europe. My parents weren't be a rich people. Simple, we like to travel and to know other places, cultures and people. Now we have Internet and can see other places from home (and we can planning new voyages). But many people don't like learning about new things (it not depends on money). Simple: you have open mind or not. If you haven't open mind - you will be still believed in stupid stereotypes, e.g: "in Poland lives polar bears and everybody drinking pure ethylic alcohol nad walking with spears on the streets "
Ignorance is very dangerous, but I we will be teach children about culture, art, history and when we will show them beautiful things - they will not be ignorant.

Thanks a bunch for all that great info about Wroclaw, Gosia!
And I say that for two reasons. The one is of course that we must be interested for the legacy of all cultures which contributed to civilisation. Without history we are... nothing!
The other reason is my very strange feeling that many too many cities and places of real culture in countries of the former "east block" (what a ridiculous name, I know!) are still being neglected or completely ignored. If you ask somebody around here they would likely think that culture is a priviledge of the west and this makes me so angry sometimes. Nobody tells us about (for example) Wroclaw, nobody speaks about those unknown diamonds. They all speak only about "criminality coming from the former soviet block", as if there had been no culture there. The best logicians of mathematics came from that region and nobody ever will say something about them. Which is for me as ignorant as to not know about Euclid. I can only hope that this will change - so go on and shoot some more images of such places!
As about "motion blur"... forget it! Looks partially like the result of oversharpening, but not only! And exactly that "not only" is worth investigating. A small comparison (attachment) readily demostrates that.

Wrocław is very old city (has over thousand years). Architecure of the oldest part is... well, every kind of style (roman, gothic,baroque,renaissance, modern, etc...). For example - City Hall: mixture of gothic (the lump) and renaisance (decorations) outside and baroque pictures inside.
On addition: in 1945 Wrocław was destroyed in almost 70% and after World War 2 it rebuild accidentally sufficiently (that is a point of notion "architectonic trash can"). Of course, history of Wrocław is to complicated for this short post :)

Hi Gosia, and thanks alot for the reply.
It looks neither like motion blur nor like pixelation by downscaling. The direct comparison to the moving people on the very same image excludes motion blur as a possibility. And if it was because of downscaling then the same effects would be likely to see on some other contours of the image too. It is not as important really, since its tiny, but it is interesting to think about such things.
About the "huge ballast of fanfare"... you just nail it down... perfectly!
BTW, can we say that this is more or less the general appeal of Wrocklaw? Gothic and baroque?

1. I think that pixelation on girl's legs is because this girl was moving (or resizing the image gave this effect)
2. The frame... Well, this building is very special for people who knows history of Wrocław and I want to make a huge ballast of fanfare: gothic heart of the city in a baroque dress. And... it's a gift for a special person :)

The inner part is exciting for it depth and details in the deepessat night, Gosia! The lighting balance is also very well achieved especially when we consider the time of the night! There is, however, some very visible pixelation, like for example on thhe legs of the group of the three girls near the left corner. (And I must look at girl's legs, you know! ;-)) Still a very good image of the night atnosphere
The frame around the image... Do you think that it brings something? Quite a ballast of fanfare to me...
