Love you're composure. The nature looks magnificent! There's a strange bright vertical line just on the right of the lower part of the ice. And also the shadows in the picture get to black.

Your very good at photography for just a beginner. Is that Pentax of yours an older camera? I have one from the 60's and it takes great pictures although I'm not a big fan of the manual focus. Those are good cameras to learn from, since you have to adjust everything manually. Great picture, pictures of animals are always difficult to take.

This is a great shot. It has a charming old world feel to it. The isolated fishing village if you will with a touch of romanticism bringing to mind the cliffs of Dover.

Hi Cameron, Yer big object is lifebuoy cabinet. I'm going to pause putting up photo's for a week or so and try and raise quality contol at this end. Maybe shoot a couple of films based on a single theme, or particular area.
Regards,
Graham

This is a neat capture - crisp and clear- lovely detail. for the future a tip I have been told - you dont HAVE to have the whole of whatever it is you are photographing...

Hi ya Kita, I'm faaaae aberdeenshire, just about the furtherest away from Colonsay as you could be in Scotland, and youself?? As for the cowpats, I don't mind my ball going in a sand trap, but a shit trap carries more than a one stroke penalty.

Cameron, I like stuff that works and is built to last. For me nothing beats a car that was build 20 ot 30 years ago but refuses to die. What's the point in the new digital camera's. Spend $$$, but three years down the line you'll buy another one. Oh I can feel a rant coming on so I'll stop there.

It's a nice shot. Good framing and good composition. The focus seems a tad soft though. I get this all the time too especially with trying to get animals, as they tend to not like being photographed. Always remember that when dealing with film you should Check twice and shoot once. and when in doubt, take a second shot.

beautiful shot. Great framing and I must say that it's very refreshing to see someone else who uses actual film. 99% of the shots that I look at now-a-days are all digital, especially the black and white. And to see someonelse who uses black and white negatives is great. What a beautiful building.

Hey there. I like the mountain, and the cross in front is a good foreground object. However, the biggest problem here is the blurriness, I think. That could be either the scan or the lens, or you need to open up the shutter a bit more, and stabilize the camera with a tripod. As for the crop, I think a wider angle lens, and moving the cross a bit more towards the centre (remember the rule of thirds) might help.
THen again, i'm no expert either, just an amateur like yourself!
Cheers!

Cute dog and nicely composed shot. Looks like it has an orange cast typical of tungsten lighting. You might try a series 81 a or b filter to correct the color. I'd like to see a similar shot of Becky taken outdoors on an overcast day. Kurt

Sounds like you had to work for this shot! Peaceful setting and I like the color of the church and the way it's framed by the trees. I'd love to see a tighter shot of the church as an architectural photo. Bravo. Kurt

Kurt, I'm new to this game, so I was just playing around seeing what happens at various apperture/shutter speed. I've included a shot of the sunflower taken according to the light meter. Vivid Y & B would of been with about one and a half stops less light than reccommended. My photographic equipment is, one camera, one lens, one teleconverter, but I'm going to go shopping for a couple of toys soon.

Graham: Appropriate title! I love the color saturation and the contrast between the colors.
You said no filters on this shot but did you use a polarizer? That sky is soooo blue. Nice one.
