I like the new one better. Somehow the lines in the fingers abd palm detract from the little foot. The "update" is perfection. :-)

Oh my goodness it is perfect. I love the whole compositon. Protected in the hands so tiny and vulnerable. The lighting highlights the difference in the sizes the newness. Unusual setup, its perfect well done.

Hi Bruce, I don't know if the style and tecnique of this conversion is good. Surely your photo it is!
Great decisive moment!
Regards from Rome... today a little bit sad.

Very good this insect in flight .. must be quite difficult ! I remember waiting half an hour to catch a good shot at these guys, their are not slow at all .. you got great motion on the wings, the head is sharp, colours look great !

Nice crop. I appreciate that. The pole was distracting. I haven't cropped too tightly on many shots yet, but looking at that it can certainly strengthen the overall image. Thanks for taking the time.

Come sempre una bellissima immagine di sport,
volevo proporti una maggior concentrazione su di loro e tagliare il palo a sinistra...
scusa l'intrusione.
complimenti Davide

Plenty of action Bruce with good sharpness and bright colours.Pity about the obtrusive yellow jackets in the background but otherwise an excellent shot from a good portfolio.

Great shot, I just love the DOF and colors, that make them stand out on the screen, along with the determination of the players

Aaaah, sorry. My mistake. Too tired to think straight. I think it was something like F2.8 @ 1/750th maybe a little faster. Not on my own comp right now so I can't check, but something like that.

I had it set on 'A'. I wanted F2.8 to keep DOF narrow to focus solely on individuals I was shooting, and with as fast a shutterspeed as I could get to freeze everything. I'm curious as to what you mean? How would you have shot it differently? What sort of look would you have gone for? I always welcome input.

why did you not put shutter speed and aperture settings down? I am guessing you used auto.

I had been using a 70-300mm g f4-5.6. It's ok as a lens in reasonable light but, in winter dullness, for sports it was useless. 80-200 f2.8 is incomparable. Excellent lens. I've got a few rugby shots taken on the 70-300 in my portfolio. You can see the difference. The shutter speeds were so slow, really difficult to get decent shots.

1/500th @ F5.6

Difficult but good fun. First time I'd tried for them but it was in October, very late in their season, so I'm looking forward to having another go this year.
