Nicely observed with plenty of detail for the eye to travel over.

Great image that seems to capture the moment well.... my only criticism would be the slight over sharpening of the image and I would suggest setting a threshold of around 25 and a maximum of 2 pixel depth.

Hi Jan, thanks for your comment...no messing in Photoshop, I was using the close up setting on a sunny day. The camera part of the phone is 5 Mp and a Carl Zeiss Tessar lens which seems to be very sharp.

Welcome to Usefilm...there is an interesting dynamic to this image, in that usually one leaves a space for the subject to move into or look into...in this image however we find the subject looking away from the space and this lends a certain tension that is not easily ignored. Certainly an image that asks questions of the viewer, Regards, Brian

Hello Alberto, firstly thank you for your kind comments on my portfolio, I really appreciate you taking the time to look and share your thoughts. My current favourite digital compact is the Fuji F31fd;indeed that is the camera I probably use most at the moment despite having just bought a Nikon slr. It is 6mp and has a top iso of 3200 and all the reviewers place it very highly in its class. In the UK a popular television show is the Gadget Show which tests and reviews all manner of gadgets and the Fuji F31fd is their current favourite digital compact. Here is a link to a review http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilmf31fd/ Regards, Brian

What a super image that really captures the majesty and grandeur of an amazing building.I notice in your reply to Dave you mention the Echo wall and how one can whisper and be heard a 100 metres away...made me think how fantastic the internet is and how I can "whisper" here in Derby and you can hear me thousands of miles away.Regards, Brian

How beautiful, elegant and magical this picture looks. The beams of light cut through the forest gloom and illuminate a divine creature. It only needs the Lady Galadriel to turn this into a scene from Lord of the Rings...very evocative. Congratulations Sylvia, very warm wishes, Brian

What a pretty young lady who you have managed to capture well. However a few things let the image down....whilst the soft focus is good for skin texture it is not so good for the eyes which should always be sharp also I do think a catchlight maybe from fill in flash would have helped to lift the image.Personally I would have used the healing brush in Photoshop to remove the stray hair from her nose and mouth to tidy the image up. Finally the very heavy frame seems a little too much for me and I would make it symetrical. Still a nice shot though and one I am sure you are rightly proud of. Regards, Brian

The saying "less is more2 seems apt for this image as the lack of colour gives a stark almost ominous feel to the image. Great interpretation, Regards, Brian
